The board approved an MOU that formalizes an attendance expectation for high-school staff at graduation by pairing it with professional learning time. Christy, who presented the proposal, said the idea arose from noticing low staff presence at graduation and explained the plan would swap a parenting-conference day so staff would be required to attend graduation or use leave.
Christy said she polled teachers and that the executive union agreed to the arrangement. The board moved, seconded and approved the MOU on a roll-call vote without further amendment. Administrators will implement the process as described and notify staff and parents of the attendance expectation.
