Morgan Hatcher, secretary of the student council, told the board the council aims to broaden student voice and participation this year and previewed homecoming plans running Sept. 27–Oct. 4, including Ironman volleyball, powder-puff football and a hallway-decorating contest. "We want to change that," Hatcher said, explaining the council’s goal to ensure all voices can be heard despite the school's smaller size.
Hatcher also announced a blood drive scheduled for Oct. 20 and described ideas for fundraising, including student-run coffee or beverage stands with proceeds supporting student-council events. The student council plans to increase outreach, hold a lunch table with executive members to hear student concerns and invite career speakers across varied fields.
