Board to place recommendation to name Saginaw Middle gym for Coach Marshall Thomas on consent agenda

Roberts read PO 7250 aloud: “Any employee of the district thus honor must be decease or no longer employee by the district prior to the board selection of his/her name for a commemoration of honor.”
Roberts outlined Marshall Thomas’s long service to the district, noting his roles as teacher, counselor, principal and basketball coach and referencing the championship he led at Saginaw High. Several board members, including Joyce Seals, Janet Nash and Mattie Thompson, praised the selection and encouraged a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community invitation. The recommendation will appear on the consent agenda at the action meeting for formal board consideration.
