The board approved a slate of contracts recommended by the Academics, Arts & Athletics committee for the 2024–25 school year, authorizing the superintendent or board president to sign agreements with providers of special‑education services.
Committee Chair Wilcox introduced motions approving contracts with ABA Support Services LLC, Behavioral Health Associates, Beaumont Academy, Hogan Learning Academy LLC, Lehigh Learning Academy and a renewal for TransPerfect remote interpreters. Each motion was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Item 10.06, a consulting and service agreement with Lehigh Valley Center for Independent Living (LVCIL) to provide special‑education services, was examined after a board member noted redlined optional items and unspecified hours. Administration explained some contract fields are individualized per student and recommended tabling the item to supply the precise information; the board voted to table 10.06 for a future meeting.
The committee also approved a second amendment with 1st Student (transportation) to update term and compensation and authorized an agreement with Lehigh Carbon Community College for transition services for students with significant needs. The resolution supporting PIAA House Bill 1983 was also approved.
