They said some improvements will be installed as pilots at selected schools to validate implementation.
On finance and capital planning, administrators said the district will pursue a structured budget strategy and a capital action plan tied to enrollment projections and Vision 2030, noting Parkland is the only nearby district seeing substantial enrollment growth. Dr. Menotti emphasized the plan is a "living document" that will be updated as projects are completed and new needs emerge.
Academic priorities include enhanced mental‑health, emotional and behavioral supports (MTSS expansion, new suicide‑risk screening guidelines), a shift toward literacy practices based on the science of reading including pre‑implementation of Wit & Wisdom in selected K–5 classrooms, and continued development of the reimagined high‑school experience under Vision 2030. The presentation also flagged staff professional development and exploration of generative AI for educational use; Policy 8.15 on AI was noted as approved in July and training is underway.
Board members praised the clarity of the priorities and the packet provided in advance; no policy vote was taken on the goals themselves at the meeting.
