Bremer County supervisors voted to set a 45 mph speed limit on a paved segment of Joplin Avenue — from the Golden Mile area north about 1,500 feet — citing sightline and residential concerns along a hill and the transition to gravel.
Landon described the segment and said staff reduced the paved portion for safety review; supervisors said they had witnessed vehicles losing control on the loose pavement and believed the lower limit would improve safety at the pavement‑to‑gravel transition. The resolution was moved, seconded and adopted by voice vote.
