Mark Zordan of Johnson Engineering presented the Lee County NPDES Permit FLS000035-004 Cycle 4 Year 7 Annual Report and stated Lee County has reviewed and approved the report for submission to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection before the Nov. 1, 2024 deadline.
Board and staff discussed that the new NPDES permit cycle may change sampling requirements in future years and that a Johnson Engineering representative attends bi-monthly Lee County NPDES meetings to keep district staff apprised. District Manager noted stormwater ponds are designed to catch and retain runoff and are not held to the same standards as natural lakes under current guidance.
