The River Ridge Community Development District board accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1, term expires Nov. 2026) on Aug. 27, 2024. Mrs. Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter and, on motion by Mr. Blumenthal and seconded by Mr. Twombly, the board voted to accept it.
Because the vacancy is an appointment to fill an unexpired term rather than an election, the board directed outreach to solicit qualified candidates. Mrs. Adams said Mr. Gilman represented The Meadows for eight years and will include a friend's resume on the next agenda. The board asked Mr. Long and The Meadows' POA manager to e-blast residents about the vacancy, candidate qualifications and to request resumes or letters of interest before the next meeting.
No appointment was made at the Aug. 27 meeting; the item remains on the schedule for a future board action.
