Board approves election coordination resolutions, procurement and construction items; LCAP hearing continued

Trustees approved resolutions to coordinate the Nov. 3, 2026 governing board election with Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties, awarded a well-pump installation bid, declared futility of rebidding a classroom project change order, approved CIF representatives and consent items, and continued the LCAP public hearing to June 11.
The board approved required resolutions to request election services and consolidate the district's November 3, 2026 governing board election with Santa Barbara County (resolutions 31 and 32) and with San Luis Obispo County where Trustee Area 4 extends into that county (resolutions 33 and 34). Each resolution passed on roll-call vote.
On business items, the board awarded the well-pump installation at the Mark Richardson Center to Western Oilfields Supply Company doing business as Rain for Rent for $338,051.07, and approved a resolution declaring futility of further public bidding for change order work on the Santa Maria High School classroom project after an additional change order of $333,189.65 increased the contract to $11,929,177.99. The board also approved designated CIF representatives for each site and approved the consent agenda. The LCAP public hearing was opened but continued to June 11 at 4 p.m. to allow members of the public more time to review the LCAP link.
