Ron Centofanti, a board member, moved “to keep the book in the library and stand by the committee decision,” and Tina Forsyth seconded. The motion passed by a roll call vote with five yes votes and no dissents; Rick Burmeister and Lisa Hostetler were recorded as absent in the minutes.
Board President Dave Schriemer called the special meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. at the Vicksburg Administration Building. The meeting notice posted Oct. 13 states, “The purpose of this meeting is to discuss policy 9130 Public Complaints and Grievances (appeal of committee decision) and any other business that may come before the board,” language included in the posted agenda by Board Secretary Tamara Young.
Minutes show two members of the public addressed the board during the audience portion; the minutes do not record the speakers’ remarks or identify the substance of those comments. The district’s minutes record the motion and its outcome but do not include the title of the book or the committee report that led to the appeal.
President Schriemer adjourned the meeting at 6:12 p.m. The minutes are filed with the superintendent’s office and are signed in the record by President Dave Schriemer and Secretary Tamara Young (document date Nov. 10, 2025).
