The Swartz Creek Community Schools Board approved the district’s 2024–25 final budget and adopted a preliminary 2025–26 budget during its June 25 regular meeting in the Joan Ferris Board Room.
Chuck Melki moved “to approve the 2024-2025 Final SCCS Budget as presented,” and the motion passed on a roll call vote with all five voting members recorded as yes. Jamie Cowan had presented the 2024–25 final and the 2025–26 preliminary budget reports earlier in the meeting.
The board also approved the 2025–26 preliminary budget on a 4–1 roll call vote. Kim Winter supported the motion; Autumn Henry cast the lone recorded no vote. Board President Carrie Germain and other committee presenters had summarized committee-level reports before the vote. The approvals allow district staff to proceed with planning under the adopted preliminary spending assumptions for the upcoming school year.
