Council gives consensus to seek bids to repair council chamber sound system

Bass said the existing system (installed four years earlier with COVID-relief grant funds) could be tuned, additional speakers added, and a failed receiver replaced; the scope also included documentation, maintenance and remote support.
Council members expressed interest in a formal bid process rather than a quick quote solicitation; staff noted that the quoted scope could be procured via three quotes or a formal solicitation. The mayor and several members said they preferred a bid to ensure thorough vetting, while other members wanted to avoid months of delay. The council gave consensus to move forward with seeking bids/quotes to determine exact costs and options.
