Edgewater schedules comprehensive-plan workshops, staff says moratorium will guide public engagement

Development Services Director Ryan Solstice told the council that staff has published informational materials (including a utility-bill flyer and a prominent web link) and is lining up public education seminars and engagement workshops led by VCARD and city staff. "It's in orange. It says comprehensive plan," Ryan said, referring to the city's online notice.

Solstice presented a tentative schedule for work on the comprehensive plan and the land-development-code rewrite: a draft in May, Planning & Zoning review in June, a first reading before the council in July, a roughly 90-day state review for major amendments, and tentative adoption in December. He said staff will run public exercises and bring the results back to council and that the moratorium on building permits will overlap the outreach period to allow broad public input. Council members emphasized resident access to workshops and staff committed to open forums and to making materials accessible online.
