During the public-comment portion of the Oct. 15 meeting, Samantha Whiting of Thomson, Ill., addressed the board with several requests and concerns. "Would like to see more Athletic Director involvement at golf meets," Whiting said, and she asked the board to clarify male/female chaperone policy for overnight trips and to report the status of 2024–25 yearbooks.
Whiting also requested additional bus stops to improve student access and urged that homecoming floats not be constructed during the school day. The board's public comment policy, cited in the minutes, limits remarks and notes the board will listen but not engage in back-and-forth during the comment period; the minutes do not show a response from the board to Whiting's requests.
