TAC backs advancement of draft 2027–2032 TIP to Regional Council for public review
Summary
The Salt Lake Area TAC reviewed the draft 2027–2032 Transportation Improvement Program, which includes STP, CMAQ, Carbon Reduction and TAP projects for the Ogden–Layton and Salt Lake urbanized areas, and recommended forwarding the draft to the Regional Council for a June–July public comment period.
Ben Wuthrich, Transportation Planner with the Wasatch Front Regional Council, presented the draft 2027–2032 Transportation Improvement Program to the Salt Lake Area Technical Advisory Committee on May 27, 2026. He said the draft program includes Surface Transportation Block Grant (STP), Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ), Carbon Reduction, and Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) projects for the Ogden–Layton and Salt Lake urbanized areas and that a public review and comment period is expected to begin in late June and continue through July.
After discussion, the committee recommended advancing the draft TIP to the Regional Council for public review. No formal vote on the TIP adoption occurred at the TAC meeting; the committee's action was a recommendation to the Regional Council for the public-comment phase. The meeting also recorded approval of prior meeting minutes (motion by Jeremy Nielson, second by Eric Lundell, passed unanimously).
