Oak Creek Fire Department outlines 2026'1 strategic plan emphasizing staffing, MIH and training

Fire Chief Mike Kresick presented a broad, community-driven strategic plan for the Oak Creek Fire Department covering 2026'1 and identified seven priority goal areas intended to strengthen service delivery and internal capacity. The chief said the plan was developed with department members, internal and external stakeholder feedback, surveys and a SWOT analysis and thanked a 20-member internal strategic-planning team and retired assistant chief Jeff Mallis for facilitating the process.
"The goals and objectives ... are aimed to help us to help our members continue to provide outstanding service within a community," Kresick said, noting priorities such as staffing, formalizing the mobile integrated health/community paramedicine program, special-operations enhancements, competency-based training, external engagement and modernization of technology and equipment. Kresick said leadership will brief every shift and stand up several implementation committees; no formal council action was required for the informational presentation.
