A special Town of Norfolk meeting on Aug. 3, 2026, approved an appropriation of $399,750 to fund the Rails to Trails North Brook Trail Connecticut Recreational Trails Grant Project (DEPA00029001130). Richard Byrne, elected moderator at the start of the meeting, presided over the voice vote that resulted in unanimous approval.
The motion “to appropriate $399,750 from town funds to be reimbursed by the State of Connecticut in full” was proposed by Matt Riiska and seconded by Leo F. Colwell, Jr., and passed unanimously by voice vote. The appropriation is tied to the Connecticut Recreational Trails Grant project identified by DEPA00029001130. Town Clerk Deborah M. Nelson called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.; the meeting adjourned at 6:02 p.m.
