During discussion Councilmember Burrows argued the recommended projects are concentrated in the northern part of the county and urged staff to increase outreach and education in southern and central county communities that have not applied. "This list in its present form is highly inequitable," Burrows said, citing attachments and a concentration of projects in northern municipalities.
County staff and the chair encouraged council members to work with constituents on future applications. The motion to recommend favorably carried (the clerk recorded the motion as 9‑0‑1 in committee). Staff said the recommendations are in Exhibit A of the resolution and that unspent prior‑year funds were targeted to timely projects.
