City Administrator Femling presented the proposed Capital Improvement Plan for FY2021–FY2029 and reviewed items in the Capital Improvement Fund, Fixed Asset Fund and the Street & Path Fund during the June 16 special meeting.
Femling and department heads discussed potential cost reductions and prioritization of projects; the council and staff examined already-purchased items and planned acquisitions. The work session was part of the FY2021 budget review and included a line-by-line look at where the city might reduce spending without unduly affecting core services. No final CIP approvals were made at the meeting; the plan and fund allocations remain under consideration as part of the budget adoption process.
