The board approved a short extension and payment of the final installment to Epicenter for a 2023 grant supporting an outdoor park. Staff told the board Epicenter completed the work but missed the final reporting deadline amid staffing challenges; they have already received the initial $7,500 payment and this action would release the final $7,500.
A staff member told the board: “We awarded Epicenter a grant in 2023 to help with their outdoor park... the park's been completed... we just need to decide if we're comfortable with, extending it enough that they can get the final payment a little later than expected.” Lacey moved to approve the extension and final payment; Judy seconded and a roll call recorded online 'ayes' (Larry, Denise, Kevin, Judy, Lacey). The chair declared the motion unanimous.
Staff said budget availability was not a concern; the board noted the county has previously extended final payments for other projects that faced permitting or staffing issues.
