"We're gonna put that money towards that Cottonwood Canyon new parking area that was built, which is really nice," the member said.
The grant also covers roughly ten days of professional trail-crew work focused on steep, technical sections where rock work and engineered fixes are preferable to volunteer labor. Speakers emphasized that professional crews are better suited for that technical rockwork and that local anchor-replacement initiatives (including work by the Salt Lake Climbers Alliance) are helping address safety at popular climbing sites.
