RTM okays $45,671 for annual maintenance of Fargo Road water tank

The RTM voted to move $45,671 to pay for scheduled annual maintenance on the Fargo Road water tank, a critical piece of the town’s water infrastructure. The transfer was recommended by the Board of Finance and approved by voice vote.
Director Stevens told members that a rehab and recoating of the Fargo Road tank was completed a few years ago and that the town participates in an annual maintenance program that inspects and upkeeps the coating to preserve the tank’s service life. He said the town owns three tanks (Vauxhall, Fargo Road and Rogers Hill) while three additional tanks in the system are owned by New London. Representative Bennett asked about the program’s multi‑year pricing; Stevens said the program runs through fiscal year 2031 in the backup and that cost could change if required repairs are delayed.
