The Waterford Representative Town Meeting voted to accept a $15,000 donation from the Gardner Family Foundation and deposit it into the town’s Contributed Gifts Fund for use by the Youth & Family Services Bureau. The motion was introduced under routine financial requests and carried by voice vote.
Finance Director Kim Allen confirmed the deposit shifts the donation into the contributed gift fund rather than a special revenue account and said the youth bureau “has still full, purview over how to use those funds because they were not directly specified.” Representative Bennett had asked for clarification after reviewing two different letters included in the packet; Allen replied the change reflected the amount and the bureau’s discretion. The RTM approved the request to accept the check and deposit it into the contributed gifts fund.
