The Albert Lea Area Schools special board meeting on Jan. 3, 2025 began at 10:00 a.m. at Brookside Education Center and recorded seven members present: Kim Nelson, Gary Schindler, Angie Hoffman, Neal Skaar, Bruce Olson, Dave Klatt and Davy Villarreal. A motion to approve the meeting agenda was made by Davy Villarreal, seconded by Angie Hoffman, and carried 7-0.
The board also approved a motion by Gary Schindler, seconded by Dave Klatt, to extend an offer for interim superintendent to David Krenz on the condition that a mutually agreeable employment contract be negotiated and that a criminal background check produce acceptable results; that motion passed by roll call, in favor: Olson, Villarreal, Klatt, Nelson, Schindler, Hoffman and Skaar (7-0). Bruce Olson moved to adjourn, Neal Skaar seconded; the meeting adjourned at 10:14 a.m. Motion carried 7-0.
