Albany board elects officers for 2025 and sets member compensation

The Albany Area Schools, ISD 745 board elected its 2025 officers at the reorganization meeting on Jan. 8, naming Scott Hansen chair, Tim Sands vice‑chair, Amy Sand clerk and Dirkes treasurer. The slate was elected by unanimous vote with Rueter absent.
The board also approved a motion, moved by Dirkes and seconded by Sands, setting board compensation for 2025. The schedule authorizes $75.00 per meeting (regular, special, committee) for members, annual stipends of $350 for the chair, $300 for the clerk and $200 for the treasurer, and per‑diem workshop rates of $75 for half‑day events and $125 for full‑day events. The motion passed with all votes in favor.
Board members said the organization steps were routine for the start of the calendar year. The actions establish leadership and remuneration for the district’s governance team as the board moves into its 2025 calendar of meetings.
