Memorial School renovation on track despite steel delay; contractors plan weekend work

Staff reported temporary power hookups and the disconnection of existing service are in progress, rebar is arriving and concrete forming for the gym and classroom addition will begin once materials are onsite.
Consultants flagged a schedule slip caused by a late steel subcontractor submission. To recover, contractors said they will start Saturday work and use targeted overtime while coordinating steel deliveries and shop-drawing sign-offs. "We're gonna try our best to recover in the next few months," a project representative said during the update.
The committee asked for a recovery plan from the steel contractor and regular updates to monitor the critical path. No formal schedule change was adopted at the meeting; staff said they would continue to track progress and report back.
