Board member Derek led a discussion on the superintendent-evaluation process, outlining a timeline using OSBA/COSA standards and suggesting the board prioritize one to three standards for focused goals. "With that, my goal for tonight is to hopefully get, kind of a head nod or some consensus about, yep, we like what we've seen and and move forward," Derek said, proposing a Sept. 8 meeting to take formal action on the process.
He recommended a targeted feedback survey (used last year) to gather outside perspectives from Kim's direct reports and stakeholders, and described quarterly check-ins and a February evaluation window. Superintendent Kim said she found the prior process useful and expected to align her goals with strategic planning and continued financial work. The board agreed to review standards offline and return with suggested edits for potential action in September.
