Sewer commission says pump-station redesign now estimated at about $5.5 million

Bill Dorey, chairman of the Sewer Commission, told the council the 30% design plan for pump-station improvements is returning costs around $5.5 million, up from roughly $4 million in 2022 because of inflation and added scope, and that the commission will pursue a base bid with alternates to manage costs. "30% plan right now is coming in around $5,500,000," he said.
Dorey outlined a project timeline: town review of the 90% plan in November, submission to DEM in December or January, bidding in March or April 2027, awards in May or June 2027, construction starting August 2027 and plans complete by August 2028. He said two facilities must be redesigned for 100-year flood accommodations and that the commission will request an additional $4,400 from town funds to cover some design changes.
