"The Barracuda system comes with a higher front end cost ... I think it's about $50,000 to purchase on the front end, but it has an extreme long life to it and it's generally thought to be superior," the consultant said while explaining the permit focus on water quality. Committee members asked staff to include the device as a bid alternate and to return with a refined timeline tied to county permitting.
