Board discusses 2025–26 meeting calendar and timing for summer retreat

Board members reviewed a draft 2025–26 meeting calendar and questioned several date shifts. Susan Alvaro asked why meetings were moved from first/third Wednesdays to second/fourth Wednesdays; Superintendent Nancy Magee explained some changes avoid major Jewish holidays and that June dates were shifted to give the business team more time to prepare the budget.
Board President Hugo Torres proposed scheduling the summer retreat shortly after a local social dinner and before the Aug. 20 meeting, and he suggested holding a Governance Workshop in November. The board discussed logistics and Superintendent Magee offered to circulate a Doodle poll to find dates that work for members.
