The Broadview Board approved a purchase order for Sherwin Industries, Inc., in the amount of $16,884.27 to acquire equipment the public works director said will address sidewalk trip hazards caused by vertical separations.
Director Ames told the board, "This is, Sherwin Industries. This is a trip hazard bridal. So sidewalks, tree growth, you see vertical separations scribe trip hazards. So this particular piece of equipment, will address those." Trustees asked no follow-up substantive questions and voted to approve the purchase order.
The item was presented as a budgeted need for public works to respond to recurring sidewalk safety concerns, including seasonal tree-root uplift and storm damage.
