Students and parents tell board a 7-course schedule would strip critical electives

She said elective classes helped her children find friends and pursue passions, noting one child placed third all-state in piano and that those pathways often lead to scholarships and college opportunities. "No one in our family could have predicted that Zeke would place 3rd all state piano in his junior year," Riendo said. She called the presentation biased toward the 7-course option and asked the board to give more thought to alternatives.
Board members acknowledged the comment and asked staff to consider the impact on electives and mobile student populations when returning with detailed comparisons.
