Iesha Little, sitting in for Tierra Pringle as Student Member of the Board, asked the Board to allow graduates to wear decorated graduation caps at commencement and to permit seniors to paint their assigned parking spots with washable paint under staff supervision. Little said decorations must be "respectful" and that decorated caps would require approval by Mr. Gordon prior to commencement; she gave the graduation date as May 28, 2026 and a deadline for cap suggestions to be submitted for approval.
Ms. Diya Ramakrishnan shared results from a student Google survey and proposed strengthening tutoring and SAT-preparation options. Ramakrishnan recommended using Khan Academy's Schoolhouse World, saying it is a free platform "to tutor for volunteering hours and get tutored as well in multiple different subjects" and noted students can submit tutoring portfolios for college applications.
Both student presenters asked for administrative follow-up; the briefing record shows the Board received the proposals and that student leaders will coordinate next steps with building staff.
