The Lorain County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on March 10 to grant an Expedited Type 1 annexation petition that moves roughly 2.3771 acres from Pittsfield Township into the City of Oberlin (Resolution No. 26-149). The petition covered two parcels—Permanent Parcel Nos. 14-00-026-000-006 (about 1.0771 acres at 15286 State Route 58) and 14-00-026-000-005 (about 1.3 acres at 15300 State Route 58)—and included a legal description, a map (Exhibits A and B), and an Annexation Agreement previously adopted by Oberlin (Ordinance No. 06-71 AC CMS). The county engineer had reviewed and found the legal descriptions to be correct.
The resolution records the board’s findings that the petition contains the signatures of all property owners, accurate legal descriptions and a plat, and that a statutory agent is named. It directs the clerk to enter the resolution on the board journal and forward certified copies of the file to the City of Oberlin. Commissioner Marty Gallagher moved to adopt and Commissioner Jeff Riddell seconded; the roll call read Ayes: Gallagher, Riddell & Moore.
