The Novi maintenance department asked the board Oct. 17 for feedback on proposed purchases from the 2019 bond fund totaling $135,216.98.
The request breaks down to $104,120.98 for 11 pieces of custodial equipment (replacement and supplemental machines) and $31,096 for a Genie GS-3232 scissor lift. The lift was described as necessary to reach 32 feet while maintaining a narrow 32-inch width to fit interior doorways; the district said existing lifts top out at 19' and 26'. The scissor lift quote from Bell Forklift was presented as the best of three prices. The item was presented for discussion and will return to the board for formal approval at the Nov. 14 meeting.
Administrators said the purchases will help maintain high, hard-to-reach spaces across the district, including performance gyms, the field house, middle school media center and the new Meadows building. No final purchase motion was made on Oct. 17.
