The Novi Community School District Board of Education voted unanimously Oct. 17 to approve the district's Wellness Center plan, following an earlier presentation on Sept. 19.
District leaders said the design follows state grant guidelines. RosaLeigh Johnson, director of mental health and wellness, and Stewart Reich, project manager and senior design architect at Kingscott, presented renderings and a layout of the proposed center. Johnson and Reich described the plan as aligned with grant requirements and district needs. The board adopted the plan by motion (6–0).
The board's approval clears the way for next steps in project planning and implementation. The presenters emphasized the design was intended to meet the needs of students, staff and the community while aligning with the grant's parameters. No implementation timeline or final construction budget was specified at the meeting.
