The Arts & Heritage Commission reviewed several variations of the city logo and recommended multiple options be forwarded to city council with commissioners' comments.
Members favored keeping the original design and presenting alternate color and line-weight options, including a 'sunrise' variation and a yellow variant with green trees. The commission agreed to present the original plus two or three refined alternatives to council so the council can make a final selection.
Separately, commissioners discussed banner strategies for H Street (Greenwood) and suggested a community art competition, rotating artist banners and themed series managed by the Chamber of Commerce. Justin (Chamber representative in the meeting) said the Chamber has funds and will take suggestions for production and installation; the fire department likely would assist with physically hanging banners.
