City Engineer Nick Guilliams told the council that White Bear Lake currently provides sewer and water services to various Mahtomedi properties, mainly along Wildwood Road and Century Avenue. Both cities proposed terminating multiple older agreements and replacing them with a single Joint Powers Agreement that clarifies each agency’s roles and responsibilities; the council approved the new JPA unanimously.
Guilliams said the new agreement will replace several prior JPAs dating to 1983, 2000, 2006 and 2008 and is intended to clarify operations and responsibilities moving forward. The motion to approve the JPA carried unanimously as part of staff reports.
