The chief said he would take two to three weeks to "pull this thing apart" and return a draft that clarified when helmets are required, what power and age limits apply, and how enforcement would be approached — early on with education rather than punitive measures. The committee accepted the recommendation and voted to table the ordinance to allow the police department time to present revisions for committee consideration.
