Among the recorded dispositions: Ruben Sanchez (case on the record) received a recommendation for deferred adjudication with a proposed term of three years, 100 hours of community service, regular UAs and other supervisory conditions from the state; the court accepted the state exhibits and entered the finding that supported deferred disposition. In a separate matter, the court accepted a guilty plea and imposed a nine-month county-jail sentence in one case where the plea specifications were read on the record. For Fatima Leonor the court found guilt and imposed a six-year prison sentence with an affirmative finding of family violence. The judge reiterated that felony pleas carry collateral consequences, including restrictions on firearm possession and possible immigration consequences.
The court routinely placed plea deadlines and jury-trial dates on the calendar (several defendants were given August plea-deadline dates or trial settings in August). Judge asked probation and counsel to coordinate required treatment referrals, UA schedules and parenting or TAP referrals when the plea agreements required them.
