Clerk Ashley Martin told the council that Rich Menger had gathered letters supporting removal of the town's grain elevators and that those letters “will go to Justin Pearson and Matt Jones.”
Martin said she later received a reply from Matt Jones' office indicating that, according to their records, the Plevna grain elevators were sold to ANTLLC in 1998 out of Irving, Texas. The council was told Rich Menger will look into the disposition and return with clarification of ownership before any town action is taken.
The council did not take any formal action at the meeting; members noted the town's interest in resolving ownership before pursuing demolition or liability questions. The discussion was informational and the clerk will report back when Menger provides further records.
