During the agenda-setting portion of the meeting the chair announced the county's state association legislative goals would be added to the consent agenda and forwarded to the General Assembly. The goals cover farmland preservation, comprehensive food systems, park trails, capital needs for the county's two school systems, distressed water and sewer systems, early childhood education and pre-K, and advocacy for the county Department of Social Services' administration of SNAP and Medicaid.
"These will be forwarded to the general assembly," the chair said, and the items were placed on the consent agenda. The board did not debate the content of the proposed legislative goals at length during the meeting; the chair characterized them as routine priorities the county will ask the General Assembly to consider.
