Council approves payment and change order for demolition of blighted structures

Under Items 13 and 14 the council approved partial payment No. 4 to Lathan Construction LLC for $38,007.12 related to the LCDBG phase 1 demolition of blighted structures and approved change order No. 3 that increases the contract by $3,009.89 and adds 80 days to the contract time. Staff explained the contractor completed two additional structures that had been added to the phase and that these payments and the change order remain within the grant budget.
The council also adopted a resolution accepting the project as complete; staff will sign the notice of acceptance, record it at the courthouse and begin the 45-day lien period as the contract closeout step.
