At the end of the Aug. 3 meeting, city planning staff (S12) announced several near-term items on Pearland’s calendar. Staff said City Council will hold a special meeting on Aug. 5 at 4:00 p.m. for the second reading of a zoning application related to the PCV project. Staff also scheduled a joint Planning & Zoning and City Council workshop on Aug. 24 at 5:00 p.m. to discuss a 315-unit multifamily project at Broadway and Oak. Finally, staff invited commissioners to a Sept. 14 joint workshop to review proposed updates to the Unified Development Code, including consolidated zoning districts and land-use categories.
Staff said the UDC changes will be presented to allow commissioners to review where districts are being consolidated or expanded and to provide feedback. The announcements came after a lengthy discussion of two agenda items and were presented as scheduling and procedural updates.
