Poulsbo staff presented and the council approved a design contract amendment with BHC Consultants to complete the final design work for the SR‑305 Sewer Force Main extension.
"This project will extend that Forcemain all the way from Tolleson to the Johnson Parkway roundabout where we discharge into the county's portion of our sewer conveyance line," said Charlie in the staff presentation, describing the ~5,000‑foot alignment and the engineering recommendation to use horizontal directional drilling for the steeper, constrained final 1,400‑foot segment. He said additional geotechnical borings and a final trenchless design are needed.
Charlie and staff told council the amendment covers the drilling design and deeper geotech needs and described the amendment as "a little bit over $100,000." The amendment keeps the project within the CIP and near the anticipated overall budget, staff said. Council moved, seconded and voted to approve the amendment and authorized the mayor to sign on behalf of the city.
