Poulsbo council proclaims June LGBTQ recognition month and outlines downtown banner program

Council members discussed logistics for banner displays on Front Street and a sequence of banners that will be followed by U.S. flag displays for July events. Councilman Rick Eckert described a proposal to add an October recognition of the Suquamish Tribe with banners downtown once the tribe and city have finalized details. The mayor and council noted coordination with public works for installation and with the lodging of flags in the downtown right‑of‑way.
Council indicated support for the proclamation and the banner program while directing staff to coordinate installation timing and operational details with public works.
