After SNAP benefits cessation, Langley says churches are stepping in with free lunches

Councilmember Craig Cyr told the Nov. 17 Langley City Council that several churches are providing free lunches to residents following the recent cessation of SNAP benefits. The presentation highlighted that local organizations have stepped in to meet immediate food needs.
Clancy Dunigan, Kitchen Manager for the Open Table, described the program's schedule: free lunches are offered Mondays (except Christmas) from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Langley United Methodist Church and at other events with help from local partners. "They accept in-person donations at their lunches," Dunigan said. Island Church and St. Hubert’s Church also provide weekday lunches on other days of the week.
