Board appoints Erin McGuire as principal of Nathan Hale Arts Magnet Elementary

Following a brief executive session on March 2, the New London Board of Education voted unanimously to appoint Erin McGuire as Principal of Nathan Hale Arts Magnet Elementary School.
Richard Martin moved to appoint Ms. McGuire, Nanci DeRobbio seconded the motion, and the board approved it 6–0. Ms. McGuire thanked the board and said she would "work hard for these students, the dedicated and talented staff, and loving families," noting that New London offered her the first position of her career twenty years ago and that her commitment to the district has not wavered.
The board said no votes or notes were taken during the executive session; the board’s formal appointment occurred in open session after members returned. The appointment is effective immediately per the motion recorded in the minutes.
