Among strengths, she cited robust policies and procedures around identification and exit, use of the CogAT test paired with Exact Path for identification, and a broad-based planning team that met more than minimum requirements.
Dr. Esper reported that "almost 30 kindergarteners from last year" met the district criteria for high ability, a rate she said is significantly higher than the state average. She emphasized that higher identification reflects the strength of the district's identification process rather than an anomaly in services provided.
The presentation ended without a formal vote; administrators said follow-up would include targeted documentation practices and professional development planning.
