Board approves $11,297.92 change order for Black Hawk County Jail HVAC project

Facilities Director Rory Giving presented change order No. 3 from Young Plumbing and Heating Company for the Black Hawk County Jail HVAC and building automation upgrade, citing additional direct-digital-control work required for the operation of energy-recovery ventilators.
"This puts the total project $11,297.92 over the original contract sum, and this should be the final, we should be seeing the final payout for this project," Giving said. The board discussed the discrepancy in original design and the prior operating system and approved the resolution directing the chair to sign the change order.
Supervisors said the change order resolves integration needs between the new control system and existing ventilator units and expressed appreciation for staff oversight as the project reaches final payout.
